Strange NC30 symptoms

Post by ibby4585 »

Had a long ride on a NC30 yesterday and it behaved differently to any I have rode before.

There were no holes in the rev range and it was quite clean through the gears, but as soon as I let off the throttle the engine basically shut off.

It made the power very 'on' 'off' awful in lower gears.

Not sure when the bike was serviced or any history of it. I've literally checked the oil and stuck some fuel in as yet.

Symptoms sound familiar?

Cheers
Kris

I will obviously clean the carbs up but I thought If it was fuel/carbs it would be more unpredictable and fluffy low revs.

Will have a root about

I don't know mate haven't stripped it yet, but I don't think it's carbs to be honest.

Ok, it's just that i have 2 bikes, one standard and one fitted with larger jets........the latter on throttle shut off slows down mega quick......V engined bikes do typically slow right down when the throttle is closed but then we are all aware of that ;)
The only other thing i can think off is fuel delivery, ie the tap :?:

also this ^^^^ as the revs drop as does the level of vacuum created by the inlet tract,

could be a number of things but it will be simple, kris youve probally had carbs off more times than me with the ammount of NCs youve owned,

Yeah done it a few times lol. I thought it could be damaged throttle cables or routed wrongly.
