Snazzy cans for a Superfour...?
Hey all,
I currently have a standard can fitted to my NC31 Project Big One, but would very much like to one day fit something a little prettier. I've browsed various websites and online stores but have been overcome by all the possibilities! All I know so far is that I'd like the can to be road legal, and not to affect the performance (no retuning etc required).
Has anyone else here fitted anything similar to theirs or have any suggestions/recommendations about a type or manufacturer that might be suitable?
Cheers!
C.

Hey Jolly, I just bought a pipercross filter for my 95 FII. Did you need to do any carb retuning after adding your pipercross?
Cara, I just recently bought off eb*y an entire 304 stainless system (i.e. headers and can) for my 95 FII for around $250.00 AUD delivered (China to Australia). They delivered it in under two weeks.
Have done a trial fit at this stage as I can't pick up any header gaskets until Tuesday and it leaks like a sieve around the headers. Header pipe fits perfect though as does the mid-section mount. Can appears to be a straight-through baffle type so I'm not sure as yet whether I'm going to need a aDB killer for it. The mounting holes on the can don't match exactly with the mount holes on the pipe flange so I will need to mod the connecting holes. Here's a picture:

When I have it all connected and up and running I will try and record its sound and post on youtube.
Cheers for now...Zen.

Ok, got it all fitted finally. Headers fit perfectly but had to modify the mounting holes for the muffler on the flange at the end of the pipe as they didn't quite line up.
And here's the video as I promised. It's HD but the sound is mono.

Re: Snazzy cans for a Superfour...?
Miraculously no re-jetting or adjusting needed. The pipe runs a coffee brown colour, no back-firing on throttle-off or engine breaking--nice burble sound though. And no change in running engine temp either. Can feel a small increase in power which I imagine is due to reduced back-pressure.
Pipe runs at around 96db @ 5000 RPM when measured at 45deg and 500mm from the back of the pipe which puts it 2db over the legal limit here so, I'm looking to get a DB killer for it from eb*y which hopefully should slot right in

Awesome, might have to look into getting one, I currently have the standard can on an it's starting to look a little on the tatty side.

Mine was fitted with a full Yoshimoto system when I bought it. I looks good, goes well, and sounds great. I've no idea if any carb mods were needed. Much as I like it, I'm not sure that I would have lashed out the price for that system myself.
