Front paddock/headstock stands
I want to get a front stand so i can change my breaks myself soon ( or atleast try ) haha
Ive seen headstock stands on ebay etc but im not sure whats better easier to use and what size headstock pin id need
Or if i use a front paddock how?
You need to take the wheel off and the bobbins screw where the front spindle is no? So would a front paddock work?

Re: Front paddock/headstock stands
i have a front paddock stand you can borrow to try, there is a dude in Diss churns them out 24 quid I think, or always Mr O.
You dont need a front paddock stand to change your brakes. you can use a rear paddock stand, Abba stand, or even side stand. Someone sat astride it will also work.

I always thought a front stand connected to 2 bobbins that you had to attach to each end of the spindle
How does the under fork one work?

2 pins go under the forks where you access the damper bolt when forks are off.nazzurro_19 wrote:I always thought a front stand connected to 2 bobbins that you had to attach to each end of the spindle

Re: Front paddock/headstock stands
Ahh i see is it the paddock stand that has the 2 pins on it eachside?
Does it matter on the thickness of the pins on universal stands?
Could i not stick a jack under one fork to lift the front?

Re: Front paddock/headstock stands
what are you changing ? I assumed you meant calipers, or do you wanna change discs too ?
if you changing just the calipers, you dont need a front stand. if you want the wheel out, you do.
the forks rest in the two pins like this;

ebay item 230575870264 19.50. Not that photo, thats a Harris one, thats alot more $$
