can anyone help, please??

Post by Kc6913 »

Ive spent the whole of the winter restoring my NC30 that i bought last year. today i picked it up from the body shop where it had been re-sprayed had the decals stuck on and lacquered. on the way back an absolute disaster struck, the left hand side upper and lower ripped of the bike and broke into pieces then a few cars run them over, i cant have had them fitted on properly. i could have cried and i still feel like crying now typing this up. all that time, money and effort for nowt! ive had a look on flea bay and cant find anything. does any one have those parts lying round there garages so i can start again?

thanks
kevin,

Could you not go back the body shop and ask for replacements? It may be costly but your getting a good job. Looks sweet otherwise.

Im no fairing expert, but if they were secured correctly surely they arnt gonna just fly off. even if they are 20 years old.

I think you have a case to go back and at the very least discuss this the body shop. I would've turned round and done it straight away... trying to not stab one of them in the neck with the shards of plastic.
Whilst they may not take full responsibility, its worth a shot. Maybe a free respray if you can get the panels..

I think he said he fitted them himself?

I don't mean to be mean but you might just have to bite the bullet with this one. Unless of course they have fitted them incorrectly.

It's awful to say but I think the buck stops at you my friend.
They will say that if you think it didn't fit properly then why take it out.
Something similar happened to me on my old cbr400. Had to stump up for 2 panels from Japan :( - very very expensive mistake :(

Yeah I know, I just need to find the panels. Only problem being they're hard to find.
