Emulsion tubes NC30

Post by brys »

As some of you know I'm trying to get the midrange sorted out on my NC30. Took the emulsion tubes out and front ones are 4 hole PLUS 2 holes on the side. And rears are 5 hole PLUS 2 holes also on the side. So fronts have 6 holes in total and the rears 7 holes. Starting to think this is where my rich midrange is coming from?! Setting up as per cammos guide so if I'm right I should have 4 holes in total on the front and 5 holes in total on the rear?

Soo I'm thinking to fix this would be to either;

a) Put standard needles in with one washer..

or b) Fit the correct emulsion tubes and standard needles with 2 washers..

Thanks once again guys!

Ryan.

Sounds like your carbs were fitted with the hrc kit hence the 40 pilots aswell although from memory im sure the hrc tubes are 4+1 and 5+1.

I have some standard ones should you need em, as before I'll swap em for the ones you have if you want.

Photo? Those sound like the correct emulsion tubes.

Just shim the standard needles 0.5mm it will sort out the problems.

Out of curisosity is it something you notice or is just from the dyno?

Yeah looks like it doesn't it. That would be great I could send them over with the 40 pilot jets, do you think you could send them out guaranteed next day? Don't mind paying extra delivery costs, need to rebuild the carbs tomorrow ready for Mallory on Friday! Bit last minute to say the least!

The misses is off down the post office this afternoon, I'll go out and see what I have then let you know, is there anything else you need? Needles?

The oversized pilot jets and aftermarket needles will probably be responsible for your issues.

Return it all to standard (1washer on the needles) then see how it goes.
