I'm back! RVF 400 racebike.
Well, the deed is done, Steve Cullen (nc23rider)'s RVF400 race bike is mine;

Suspect decals (and a small amount of paint underneath the l/h front fairing "air duct"
) removed.
I've had the panels off justy for a quick check everything looks Ok, it seems to be and the idea is that I'll race a 400 as I don't have to pull it apart as often as I have my 250, so hopefully I'll be perusing this forum a little more again but nothing much otherwise.
What you get for your money stuns me, I just sold an NSR250, stock and fairly battered for not much less and as I got wets on wheels a few useful spare, a stand and a battery charger effectively this is the cheaper bike. Poking around it this morning and I can't believe this bike is only worth a couple of grand.
I will post up how much time this bike is or is not worth over my RS barreled NSR250 when placed in my fairly useless paws. As I'm a 250 lover at hear in a strange way I'd like to think not much...I fear my incompetence on the way into the corner and V4 drive on the way out will prove otherwise.

Realistically Cadwell at the end of June.
There is a race at Donington in a fortnight but I want to get it out on track a couple of times first.
a few pics, not too sure about the paintjob;

Well, it lasted 25 laps and is now locked solid, I said on the NSR forum I wanted one with pipes and a fancy cdi but a stock motor.....I guess for a few hundred quid and a bit of spanner work I can have one

Re: I'm back! RVF 400 racebike.
Actually nothing terminal.
A bit off the back of the starter clutch thingie broke away and wrapped itself round the gear the starter mptor drives. Its back togeather now with just two of the three rollers in place. It seems to work.
As for times well I'm no pro at Donny but the weather was too good to miss and I'm still getting used to the bike as this is the first time I've ridden a 4t on track for about 5 years. But a couple of seconds faster than I was on the NSR and 24 seconds faster overall race time just now compared to yesterday afternoon.
Edit....
Actually make that a tad over 4 seconds faster than the 250 and another 17s second off overall race time.

That is a fairly hefty improvement mate - I guess it took you to the next group and away from your usual battles in the field?

Nice one Fontyyy
I've got some action shots on-track, if I'm not working away (sat at work waited to see if I'm off to Kent for the week), I'll send them across tonight.
Sounds nice and goes well too.
