FZR400RSP 3tJ owners - what engine numbers do you have ?
i have a 1990 FZR 400 R SP, frame number starts with 3TJ 14xxx and in my papers, the engine number should start with the same numbers, but my engine is stamped 1WG.
As this bike never got imported to Austria ofiicially, the documents need to be very acurate in case i get into a traffic control, and i don´t want problems here.
I was told , that all 3TJ had 1WG engines, but i don´t believe that, so what are your engine numbers ?

Here's mine. Notice that thwe 1WG is stamped on the right - no room for numbers after the model code!

All FZR 400 engines are stamped 1WG.
Your bike model is either a "FZR400RR" or a "FZR400RR SP" ... the "R SP" is a 2TK model
Have a look at this website http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/8564 ... omfzr4.pdf

yep as above
all the imports were marked 1WG
i think the English 4DX model had a proper number though
EDIT
just noticed your post in the newb section welcome aboard
the hole in the crank case, looks like it's the lug snapped off, where the genny cover fits
if so then that aint to bad, there's no oil in there
but you could do without crap/water around the windings in the genny,
i recon a good epoxy resin (araldite 24hr cure) is better than liquid metal, never been that impressed with it,
take the cover off, De-grease with an old tooth brush and nail varnish remover is good, but don't squirt carbie/brake cleaner in there you'll melt the wax coating off the genny's windings and end up with a bonfire when you start it,
don't be tempted to file down the edges, when ally snaps it leaves a jagged edge which give the resin some thing to bite on

Thanks for the thumbs up, that´s my plan on fixing it too.
So seems my engine is original then, and the guys who did the paperwork were lazy...

Yes I'd say they were lazy, they probably assumed that like most Yammies the numbers match.
I had the same problem with mine. The chasis number on the logbook was incorrect - it started STJ! The rest was correct. It was obviously an inputting error. After some aggro I did get it sorted
I got it done while it is in the 'stripped project' stage, rather that try to bend an MOT testers ear to let it through!
