Nc30 late forks colour needed.

Post by ibby4585 »

I know this has been done to death and the general thought is that the late fork lower colour is Ford Grahite Grey, but it ain't that. Anyone had any luck finding a good match?

I think Zebulon had some luck in getting the right colour, but haven't read through his mammoth thread yet and he is also based in Germany so it might be difficult to get hold of over here.

Grey is Grey isn't it? As long as the shade is near as damn it, does it have to be exact?

I mean, unless you're considering concours, who's going to know apart from the most anally retentive geek?
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

No grey isn't grey. I want it right otherwise there is no point doing it. Just me maybe.

Ibby, is this the UK spec fork colour (I think it's the same as the RC30s)?

That's what I thought. I went to pick an engine up from Simon (edg-65) not long ago and I mentioned that I thought they were polished and lacquered. He told me a lot of people did that, but they should actually be a very light silver.

Anyway, sorry to hijack your thread, Ibby.
