K-conversions tail unit problem, anyone help?
okay, so i wanted to properly fit my k-con tail unit, but im running into a series of problems....first of all... the bloody coolant reservoir is blocking it... there is no way i can get that tail unit over the reservoir.... what do you guys suggest i should do? can the bike be run without a reservoir? if so, it is risky?

im sure someone with a conversion tail unit, who has installed it on their bike, can help me overcome this problem?
thanks.

Usually up front somewhere, as you got a suzuka front end id put it where the right headlight was.

i see some members have the HRC overflow bottle, and some have done their own one i,e a green fruit shoot bottle! :D. but i looked closely, and all i can see is one hose coming out of the bottles? arent theyre meant to be two hoses coming out? one for the breathing and for overflow. or am i wrong? im about to go and buy a bottle frm a shop... do i only need to drill one hole or two? =))

Two. One feeds the radiator when it needs more coolant and this pipe extends all the way into the bottle so it's immersed in the coolant. The other pipe sits about halfway in to the bottle above the level of coolant and acts as a breather/overflow pipe. As far as I understand it.
It's exactly the same principle as the reservoir you already have but on a smaller scale.

hehe yeah, thanks. ive already sorted it all out, used a small fruit shoot bottle like someone else on the forum did. only used one hose. but drilled another hole to equalize pressure when it gets hot.

Hi, just make sure the pipe to the rad goes to the bottom of the bottle so it doesnt suck air in when engine cools down.
Cheers

Yeah fruit shoot bottles increase performance by 10bhp you know! Made mine faster for sure.xivlia wrote:hehe yeah, thanks. ive already sorted it all out, used a small fruit shoot bottle like someone else on the forum did. only used one hose. but drilled another hole to equalize pressure when it gets hot.
All you need is the overflow pipe from the side of the radiator cap to go into the bottle and touch the bottom. Locate your fruit shoot bottle where you want it and is convenient.
How hard can it be?
