Street NC35 makeover

Post by J.B. »

I'd known for years my RVF was in serious need of new fairings and a paint job but it wasn't until Paul from Tyga cast an eye over it and said "Jimmy wtf? You're fairings are so knackered they're actually bending the meter stay" that I broke down and accepted I'd taken zip ties and duct tape as far as they could go. We had at it: what was left of the OEM plastics went in the bin, Paul picked out the fairings himself and really took the time to get the fit perfect. While the bike is actually in good shape mechanically we thought "well, while we're here" so ... the steering head bearings that were past their use by date gave way to a full set of TYGA CNC triples and in a rush of blood to the head I replaced the tired OEM rear sets, meter stay, upper fairing stay, mirrors and other assorted bits and pieces. I opted for '94 factory livery (yeah boring I know). Paul took care of the painting in-house and it turned out beautifully, really these pictures do not do it justice.

The rest of it ain't too shabby either: Race Tech internals up front, Ohlins rear, VTR1000 front disks with SP2 calipers & Brembo MC, GSXR flywheel conversion, HRC CDI, Tyga c/f air box, Rick O's carb springs, Tyga full system, lightened subframe, 520 chain conversion +3 on the rear and my own 32 mm race radiators.

I've owned this bike for over 10 years, I think it's turning more heads now than it ever has.

Congrats to Paul on the painting; it looks spot on! He's got an eye for accuracy! 8-)

Cheers, the wheels are in need of a re-spray also and I'll be doing them gold again ... sorry. The bike had Castrol WSBK livery when I got it and the gold wheels are a hangover from that scheme. I like the gold, it's bit of a nod to the Suzuka endurance bikes.

Lid only. A capacity increase and weight drop over OEM, check the TYGA site and you'll find it.
