hi all, new to this site and new to motorbikes. ive just bought a vfr nc21, and everytime i give the engine a little rev, they seem to take a while to drop back to idle. does anybody know what the fault could be. cheers

Re: slow revs drop
Spray easy start aroud the rubbers with the engine running to see if the revs rise but bear in mind that if the easy start is sucked up through the airbox then the revs will rise regardless.
Its not going to hurt hetting the carbs off and checking them and making sure the inlet rubber clips are seated right also.

Has your handle bar grip worked its way loose and catching on the bar end weight?
Have a look, its a fix that will cost you nothing before you look elsewhere

Re: slow revs drop
normally a sign of a lean pilot or as said, snagged throttle or air leak. check all .
