Titanium bolts and lube?

Before i give the oki a final once over , check and torque what needs to be doing should i be putting anything on the threads of the Ti bolts?

Don't want to try and remove something in 18 months time to find it seized in place .

Titanium has excellent corrosion resistance, so there shouldn't be any issues. A bit of copper grease always eliminates doubt though.

If you're using Ti bolts I wouldn't be sticking to the torque values for the normal bolts. The Ti bolts should have much lower values and be checked often.

Ti is more prone to galling, so a lubricant is needed.
Torque values are lower and most Ti bolts are up to 8.8 kg/mm2 rather than the high tensile 10.9 or 12.9 steel alloys.

Even lower torque setting when lubricated.

Also, the other way around, be careful when replacing standard bolts with high tensile, as they need a higher torque setting.

Makes sence , is galling when bolts seize ?

Is copper grease the correct stuff to stop it happening ?

Yes, they may well bind up, and cold weld , Moly paste or a special grease will help, but I would just use a copper slip type grease as it will work at high temps as well.

Look at the Mettec site first though for details, torque values are the key.

As stated above Ti bolts are prone to galling. Spring for the correct anti-seize, (or blue threadlock) and you won't have a issue.
