RVF dyno run questions.

Since I've no idea of the history of my bike I want to dyno it, what do I need to ask the shop to do in order to get it running perfectly? Going to use Crescents since they run a WSBK team!
I've problems with it, running at a constant speed anywhere around 7-9k rpm it will pulse, it's very consistent, I'd say a hundred rpm pulse if you're holding that range of revs. It pulls fine when nailed. Mate says give it more time and miles.
It's leaking fuel at the moment, fuel tap is off, didn't leak whilst I was riding then parked up, I fully fuelled her up so was hoping it was overflow, anyways will check the tap this weekend.

If your confident enough theres a few things you should check before a dyno run,

Vacume pipe to fuel tap
Air filter
Check your induction system is stock and as not been messed with
Carbs off, check jetting, float level, blocked passages

Crescents may run a WSBK team but do they know NC's? So if your going to trust the dyno operator to do the above knowing what their doing could mean to difference between a £40 bill and a £200 bill. Ive seen first hand the results of a so called professional dyno operator completely balls up a set of NC carbs and then land the owner with a £300 bill.

Good advice. Fuel leak, no idea until I get fairing and tank off, will check everything except carbs off, not too confident with that yet.
Will call Crescents regards experience with NC's, if not happy will try another dyno guy round the corner from Crescents.

as tony says, crescent may have the name, but there is no where to plug a laptop into a NC35 so it would possibly require some old school mechanical expertise and someone who can twiddle and screwdriver and not press CTRL ALT & DEL

seriously, they may well tell you what you want to hear but if you want it doing well take it to someone who had had lots of V4 exp, if you put your location in your profile there are plenty here who know the V4 inside out

If you can't find an experienced NC30 operator then i'd try and find a good dyno operator who's been working on many bikes for years, even if they are not so familiar with an NC30, with all the information on here about what jets / cominations work and what is affecting things they should be able to get a decent understanding of the bike.

90% or more of the owners on here have a stock or close to stock bike, maybe an aftermarket system. There are many published settings on here that will get the bike close to perfect, cammo's carb guide is an excellent example.

It's only when you start to get HRC style setup's that the wizardary really beings and oodles of expereince comes into it's own.

I have seen his bikes on here and pb forum , didnt realise he worked with bikes day to day , if and when i need some work doing i will have to get hold of him.

He use to work for george whites which we all know have gone tits up now so weather he still has access to a dyno or not i dont know but to be honest i doubt he needs one.
