am i thinking the unmentionable.....
since my NC29 is away getting painted and the bits i have seen that are ready for paint look really really good, i've seriously been considering doing what ive always wanted to do and thats paint my castrol bike in something i've wanted rather than 'make do' with what i have. dont get me wrong i like the castrol paint but it's not something i've loved about the bike and have considered this before but never this much.
here's what it looks like now

this is the paint it was made in from the factory.

so i have considered doing this paint to it or maybe this one.

i wouldn't paint the castrol plastics as i have other panels i'd have fixed and painted.
am i being bonkers?
what do you guys think ? and be honest, brutally honest ...

Bonkers??? - No
Paint it - Yes
As for which one, go with the colour it should have been from the factory.

Bonkers mate, i love that castrol bike. Im all for OE paintjobs yada yada yada but your castrol bike is far from stock and therefore IMO doesnt really need a stock paintjob.
I do love the type 8 scheme tho, save your pennys and just buy another NC

bonkers,, i totally agree with tony on this one, the bike has a stunning spec and i think the castrol colours adds to the finish, rolling it back to a standard scheme will just take the edge off its unique-ness IMO

I love that bike Rhory but I think your right, why not go for a change, Silhouette in a standard scheme like that would look quality and very different!! And if you don't like it well go back to the Castrol or another race rep.

this all came about after i saw this site and saw the silhouette painted up in stock schemes, ok, i have seen these for years and years but something just clicked and i thought is it time for a change.

I hear ya. I know you have always wanted the type 5 scheme.
Planning on using a silhouette nose and rc45 seat?

BONKERS.
I am usually a standard R?W?B colour man, but that castrol scheme on yours is spot on and in keeping i think.
if want a standard on, buy a standard bike but leave yours as is, iconic bike that one mate.
