is this with or without choke?
unless it's -10, mine don't like the choke at all and dies off,
i make sure the carbs/fuel pump are primed, turn the kill switch on - off - then on again and hit the start, if the engine catches then a little bit of throttle not much should do the trick

poored a bit of fuel down the carb and she fired up, so im guna strip mi carbs down and give em a good clean, hopefully thisll do the trick.

sounds like it could be manky carbs then,
a good clean'll sort that out and check the air filter and fuel filters as you go and see if that does the job
