Patients is the key, its not easy but they do go, try pulling the carbs outwards as the tray goes down if you get what i mean

and dont do it outside, do it inside when everythings warm. a thin smear of grease on the rubbers where they mate always helps too slow and methodical and once you get one sort of in insert the screw to hold it - do not tighten it up though
