I think so but bear in mind i do not have a vfr750 rear ive got a rvf400 rear so not 100% sure, to the best of my knowledge i would say so, this will need the rick o converted hud to allow you to fit it, there are 2 vfr rears once a 5" and ones 5.5" its the 5" you want off the earlier vfr750.
again this is to the best of my knowledge.

The 5" isn't that much of an advantage? What are you doing the conversion for?
You can put a 160 on a 17" 4.5 rim if you have the RVF rear wheel

They are becoming a little scarce now and fetching top dollar for the RVF 17" now and this was just a cheaper alternative. Reason for doing it is tyre choice mainly as the 090's are still fetching good money too.

I don't know about cheaper alternative, becuase you will have to modify the hub, or get a hub unit of Rick Oliver I think £120 exchange.

Yes but if I can pick up a wheel cheap enough. Bargain! Or else 17" are going for £200+
