NC23 Types

Post by brmoore »

Anyone got a picture of what 1988 CBR400RR-J's looked like in 'Type 1, 2 and 4' color scheme I think I have one of the types but I can't find anywhere that shows what each type is...whether I can find original unbroken/repaired/cracked/plastic welded fairings or get aftermarket ones I was thinking of maybe re-doing it in original color scheme(i.e. buying original fairings of all the same type or coloring aftermarket ones) but I want to know what all the color schemes were, thanks in advance.

:rocks:

Oh and importantly, are there any other fairings that fit without modification? such as RR-K fairings(89?) or any of the NC29 fairings(90+) a win would be an NC29 model where all the fairings fit from that model onto my RR-J

Gimme a kiss? ;)

So I'm a Type 6 and exactly what I was looking for is Type 7 or Type 10 to see if they're available anywhere, thanks!

If you have type 6 dont suppose you could measure the thickness and total length of the gold strip that runs around the middle of the tank for me?

I could yes I don't have a ruler though i just rent a room and among all sorts I moved country and don't have all sorts of useful things like rulers and tools can't even bleed the brakes even though I've got dot 4, had all the kit and torque wrenches in south africa but I'll check the accuracy to an a4 page of a printable ruler i just printed and give you a nearest to the mm I can measure of the gold stripe ;)

Edit: printable ruler is accurate to like half a mm, score!

Edit 2:
8mm width(possibly spot on)
945mm length(possibly 950mm, not the most accurate, got a tank pad covering part of line but ran paper at a good guess)

You can get Type 6 from;

http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cbr400rrk-nc ... partslist/

They let me down on a package I got today though, they listed honda key number (new type) on the parts fische so i thought thats obviously the one i need, but the groove was on the wrong side I needed the other one(a digit in the part number being a 1 instead of a 2) which wasn't listed, but i cut one before finding that out so i threw that away, and now ive got a useless honda blank lol, well useless to me anyway, maybe ebay wants it :P
