no neutral light and wont start without clutch being pulled
as title came to start the bike after being at a mates and the bike started first time on the button but due to cold and no choke died then on second time trying to start it nothing happened on the button. thought at first id knocked kill switch but hadnt and noticed that the neutral light wasnt on but bike definatly in neutral. the bike would only start if i pulled the clutch in. im guessing its some form of fuse or switch. am i on the right lines??

check that the neutral switch wire, which you'll find under the right hand side of the bike near the sidestand hinge, hasn't come off. They are only a push on fit and are quite prone to coming loose.
If it's not loose then check that the loom connectors on the lower right hand side of the bike are secure.

A blown neutral bulb might also cause this.

Incomplete circuit, so it's the same as the buld being off which is saying it's not in neutral..

Have you checked the neutral switch? Very easy to dislodge.

Right hand side when you are sitting on the bike.psalliss wrote:thanks mate. do you mean the right side as im looking from the front of the bike to the rear? ill check that tommorow. im guessing if they are all ok its going to be the neutral switch
You might have to remove the lower fairing if you have big arms and hands...lol
