'92 Bandit not re-starting when warm!!
Hello people!
Always find it useful to say hello first!!
I have some limited (very!!) knowledge but please treat me as a numpty until I catch up, I won't take it personally!!!!
I need some help please, I've just been given a 400 bandit on a 'K' that has been stood for 3 years (probably badly) because the person needed the space & didn't have the time or money to sort the bike out.
Apparently it is a runner but when the engine is warm and they pull up at a junction, the bike cuts out and won't start. When trying to start it again it it struggles for about 10 - 15mins whilst sounding like the battery is low?! (only recounting what the person said
)
I'm hoping someone can help or tell me if this is an inherent problem with these bikes. It would be handy to know if it's likely to be an internal problem or not before I start to strip & rebuild the engine. The bike will be stripped & rebuilt anyway whilst checking all the electrics & connections.
I have bought a new battery so that will be checked in a few weeks but really need to know about the engine?
Any help is greatly appreciated,
Thanks all, Stuart in Basingstoke.

Hi, the B4 is not known for cutting out so i'd say its a symptom of standing. Check the connections and charging system before pulling it apart, then look at the fuel/carbs second if its not the electrics.

Thanks very much for the pointer, I will be starting the strip down this weekend so I will check all electrics thoroughly.
Thanks again, Stu.
