NC30 crankcase breather hose
Hey,
For all those that have removed their airboxes for an HRC carb setu... What is the type of tubing called that people use for the crankcase breather? I have seen a few people with a clear tube with a white X weave in it. I can't seem to source anything here (NZ) like that except regular plastic tubing which gets too supple when hot.
Bonus points if you can also point me towards a website that sells this stuff and ships internationally!
Cheers
Luke

Re: NC30 crankcase breather hose
I just use a mini crank case breather filter. like this one on ebay

I run ramair, and have only tested it once, but it was wet in the morning then dry in the afternoon, and everything was fine. It saves on trying to mount a remote res and routing the pipes under the seat.

Is that all it is is? Diameter seems to small! I thought it was something specific as everyone seems to use the same stuff!Smev wrote:Isn't it just common garden hose pipe!?!

You're looking for clear braided PVC tubing. It's versatile stuff; I use it for the main fuel line, crankcase breather and rear brake reservoir hose on my bike, as well as on my partner's boat...lukemillar wrote:Hey,

I get mine through eBay, in several different diameters, from this seller:

Not sure where you'd get it in NZ, but it's common stuff.
You need hose clamps designed for silicone hoses though, 'cos they're smooth internally and won't chew the tube as you tighten up.

You can get it at Bunnings hardware stores in Oz, not sure if you have them in NZ.
It's often used for washing machine hosing.

The problem with using this stuff, is that you tread a fine line between having it look 'trick' (ie. fluid lines you can see through! Cool!) ... and it looking like you bodged the bike together with stuff out of the garden shed...

I'm not fussed about how it looks! Right now, the stuff I'm using gets really soft when hot and then kinks. Just after this stuff because it looks more robust
Cammo - Yeah we have Bunnings so I check that out as well. The current tubing Im using is from Mitre10 which is why I pretty much wrote off the big hardware stores!

Most of the pvc hosing is not suitable for fuel by the way.
