35 Looks good. Runs like shit.....

Post by cajun »

Well I just got my 35 painted after having rejetted in recently and THOUGHT I had the problem fixed. Currently has Dyno Jet (only cause that's all I had in a size that I thought would work) 114 front and 112 rear, which is a 120 Kiehin and 118K respectively. I also took the HRC emlution tubes out and put the stockers back in with a stock airfilter and stock pilots, however kept the HRC springs and short velocity stack in the rear. Air mixture screws at 1 1/2 out and R&B have system twin stack.

Crazy part of this is that the bike ran fine while it was cold up and down the street. But when I went to go for an actual ride with it fully warmed up it was almost like I was running on 2 cyc. The bike was fine in 1st and 2nd rolling on the throttle and would run it's ass off. But once I got past 45-50mph it would stutter very badly and surge and almost run on 2 or 3 cyc only.

It also has a HRC CDI and A Posh & Firm derestrictor.

Any ideas???

Is the rubber flap in place under the headstock?

Why would you have a HRC CDi and a derestrictor?? Remove the derestrictor for a start, will be messing up signals.

Removed. Actually had the carbon Tyga tray but I removed that also.

CMSM---- tried the 108's and it was worse.

Put the rubber flap back, that's your problem. You might find you can jet it properly then.

Once you get up to speed the rough air causes problems in the airbox, only heavily modded bikes run setups without the flap.

I'd agree about the flap.

I have used it, with HRC air tray, on all my bikes and they prefer the flap in place.

@ Tony - you running one on yours now??

Yes I'm running the flap for the meantime but I'll remove it and remove the filter at the same time and go for full hrc setup, should have the TPS sensor fitted soon so can see what difference that makes.

Yep, a sure sign that it's running lean. From the sounds of it you have too much air getting in there rather than having jets that are too small if you get what I mean.

Did you end up fitting a standard airbox and filter to it?

This is a simple issue to sort, just a bit of head scratching.

Yes stock filter and airbox in place. Anyone have a pic of the flap? I have a bunch of rubber stuff in a box the guy gave me.

Is it #1 or #2 in this link?
