Yeah that would be the way round it just wondered if it would pass like that as stephen manages to get his rc45 through with the same setup but then his bike doesn't even have a horn either so I expect his mot man turns a blind eye.

BUT remember if its fitted it has to work,
so if lights are fitted the must be able to switch between high and low beam,
or as mark said tape them up or remove for the MOT.

Re: Legal question regarding lights
Indeed, if it passes without a horn then go figure.
But as it states on the certificate..
an MOT is not proof of road-worthyness, just proof that at the time the vehicle was inspected it was deemed road-worthy.
You can still be busted by a traffic cop for a non-working horn etc. Or have your ass busted if your bikes inspected after a bad-smash.

Re: Legal question regarding lights
Porndoguk is quite right. If lights are fitted then you must be able to switch them from low to high beam.At the MOT place on the Harrow road I have used you have to shine your high and low beam at a screen so they can see if the headlamp is correctly adjusted. The first time I took my old BMW there they immediately sussed out it was a US import because the headlamp dipped the wrong way so they stuck a bit of tape over it and passed it.An incorrectly adjusted headlamp or one that cannot be dipped could be dangerous at night because of the possibility of dazzling another road user
