The letters on the needles are N79B, with the N being half the size of the other letter but higher up, anyone know what they are from?

I think they're an aftermarket needle that was offered for the nc30.
Mike has the dimensions of these listed along with some other nc30 needles on his site (old info - a lot more info out there now):

FI International. I have a set and they seem to work very well although if you use then on the lowest clip they foul on the spring of the needle holder in the slide. I had to file the top off so there were 2 less grooves and they're fine now. No need to do this unless you're running an HRC setup.
Too spensiff!!!

Hi Martin,
Not so sure they are FI needles. I have some and they look like this:

Note the stubby end not pointed like the other ones, also they dont have any letters on them

That's weird because I bought mine new from them in a kit along with some jets and they look exactly the same as the first pictures that you posted
Are you sure the set you think are FI are definitely for the NC30 and not another bike?

I was told they were FI, they were certainly NC30 though, they came from a set of modded carbs (2 holes in the slides, cut down velo stacks, 124 mains etc)
