Can you identify this shock?

I recently brought this shock for my 400NC30 off of Ebay,

Any ideas what its from? He said its designed for the bike but I spoke to Rick Oliver and he said it cant be.

Also any links or advise on fitting as I will admit I am not the best mechanic in the world, it took me 3.5 hours to upgrade my forks with the Rick O kit lol

it says in the ad that you need to move the battery box.

Someone is taking the piss @ £160! it is probably a GSXR shock that they bought for £30...

A GSXR shock....

My advice - send it back for a refund - it is not an NC30 shock, as per the listing and so he cannot erally argue the toss with you. Then buy a real shock that actually fits and won't need rebuilding.

£165! You've just been mugged off my friend, that's just a gsxr shock and trust me if you put a 14 stone person on that it would perform as well as a pogo stick. NC springs need to be a lot stiffer than what's fitted to the gsxr regardless of that it came from a 750 or 1000cc bike

yup - get it returned as "not as described" which is the law. If you paid with Paypal, raise the report right now....

This shock is said to have a 800-850lbs spring on it, is that about right?

Can someone explain to me what needs to be done to correct the valving?

get rid of it man. for the money you are going to have to spend on it you need to get it returned and get a shock that is right. Revalving a shock is going to cost you over £100 and that, on top of your already being raped for it is the kind of cash that a proper NC shock goes for.

Ha ha, I searched to find this for ages, I had that shock on my bike for 6months, it was resprung and revalved to suit an nc30 with a rvf link with a 14 stone rider ie me! so there was no money needed to be spent on it, it was designed for one of our much loved bikes (not at manufacture but after!!) and no he didn't get a refund. I paid 160 and sold it for 160 and it was perfect!!!! No one got mugged or ripped off lol. It was only removed because I fitted standard fairings and undertray back on. I rang rick after this guys claims that rick had inspected it and he said no one had showed him a shock or asked about one and he certainly hadn't condemned one as unsafe!
