Rad's
Hello
New to the forum, just got my VFR 2 days ago as a project, began stripping down today and it clearly needs new rad's, the botton one looks like its full of bubblegum. Having trouble finding re-con units, and got a quote of £270pr for a re-core!! From Aaron Rads,s any ideas where i can get decent rad's from, the ones on fleabay look crap.
Thanks

Re: Rad's
You haven't got much choice really my friend.
Either reconditioning or buying new aftermarket - neither are cheap.
Sellers from Hong Kong on ebay have started to sell them too but I can't comment on their quality.

Re: Rad's
If these are still available the one I have from them is great, but Rick's are awesome :)

being able to ride from point A to point B does not mean you have skills

If you have plenty of time on your hands as it's a project.CMSMJ1 wrote:geoff33 on here is selling some nice rads - keep it in the greybike homies!
Remove the lower rad and soak it in big bath of detergent (washing powder is great for this) for a couple of days.. also chuck some degraser on it etc etc.
Wash it through gently and it'll be all clean again.
Next buy a FIN comb, seach on ebay for the correct pitch.. these let you comb the fins of the rad straight.. take your time and use the come with a little watch screw-driver or similar to get the mashed up ones in the right place before combing them straight.
I spent a week or so on an NC24 rad that was mashed beyond belife (hit a tree and went into a muddy field, needless to say caked in mud and bent fins)
30 mins or so a day (enough to make you bored) and the end result was it looked great!
Might be worth a shot if it's not totally scrap (ie leaking)
