leaking reservoir
Hello
I Had a look at my bike after reading some comments on the carbs. One of them is leaking, from round the back and I have recently ran it and the temp gauge did not move. Do you think this could be the start of a costly repair, or will a new seal fix the issue? other previous comment i have read, say it could be o rings or mixture srcews? Looks like its coming from reservoir, plus I know nothing about bikes
( ps, just got off eBay and was not leaking about 40 miles ago at purchase)
Thanks

Re: leaking reservoir
Hi mate,
Do you mean its leaking from the float bowl joint or from somewhere else? If its the float bowl seal leaking then the bike is ok apart from the mess, if it is leaking from other parts of the carb due to the o'rings not sealing then it can end in tears due to the fuel getting down into the bore and washing oil out of the oil rings causing premature bore wear, tho it would have to be bad for this to happen. Can you not get somone who knows about bikes to take a look?

Re: leaking reservoir
Someone has taken the float bowl off and there is a crack it that. He has tried some metal glue on it today, but not holding out too much hope. He has called his contacts etc and can't find a good one, also can't be brought from new... Going to try some liquid metal next.... Might put a post on here to see if anyone has got one for sale. Thanks for your help.
