Reverse cylinder

Post by reverse cylinder jim »

Hi know its not a 400 but thought i would share with you my pride and joy which ive owned for about 5 years now. I purchased it from a 70 year old man who has had it sat in his garage under a pile of junk for many years.
This is how it looked when i rescued it from his garage

Over the years i have been searching for genuine parts etc and turned it into the bike you see now

Updrades include,
R1 forks yokes and calipers
3ma sp rear shock
Decked and ported barrells running Tz 250 pistons
De-restricted airbox and pipes

Next on the list is to finish off a set of race pipes ive got and then just enjoy it.
Cheers

Thankyou, took alot of machining for the front end to fit right but worth the hassle

Cheers, im on it pipe wise, got some rough ones made up to see how they fit and if all is well i will make a mint set (tig/purge) etc.

Cheers for the info, they were mig welded before they were hydralic formed and think it looks crap so will re cut the sections open and tig them or like you have said gas weld as it is thin mild steel (1.2mm). Have you any pictures of your old 3ma? Bet the pipes looked superb as ive seen the welding etc you have done for Geoff in the past 8-)

Nice one mate, let me know what you think of it compared to the NSR you had. Was it hard to source tyres? Might have to buy a set soon for mine.
