NC30 fork leak

Post by Hadies »

I fitted the RO fork kit recently to my early type forks and have found the fresh blue suspension fluid seeping out the back of the fork pinch bolts.
The fluid isn't coming out of the drain bolt on the back of the legs so it must be coming from the bolt on the bottom of the leg. Odd how it wasn't leaking before and now it is and I haven't touched this bolt.
Anymoo, I've checked out the parts manual and theres a 'special washer' under that bolt. What is this washer? Going to use some PTFE tape to make sure it doesn't leak again.
Thanks
Hadrian

Quality. I'd appreciate it if you can measure it up mate and if it's a size I can't source locally I'll give you shout. Thanks

If you have copper washers in your forks, take them out get a piece of wire bend a hook at one end,
hang the washer over a gas ring or blowlamp untill cherry red, then drop in cold water you can then re-use washers.

Cheers hunter. I'll drain the fluid and whip that bolt out and give this a go. Hopefully that'll stop it seeping. Is there any other place it could be leaking from? Thanks all
