Spark Plug Socket
I Know this has been asked a lot, but i've been looking around the net, just want to buy a plug socket that will fit. I prefer the have the correct socket for plugs (rubber insert) but can't seem to find one in the correct size. Makes the job easier and i'm currently on a tool buying binge.
Any links of one people know of? I think it's a 13mm if I remember correctly?
Otherwise it's gonna be putty in a socket time :)
Cheers guys.

Re: Spark Plug Socket
I couldn't find one off the shelf, I got a deep socket of the right size and cut a bit of old bicycle inner tube and stuffed it inside the socket, seems to work OK.viper61 wrote:I Know this has been asked a lot, but i've been looking around the net, just want to buy a plug socket that will fit. Yeah same, haven't been able to find one either. Might just have to go the putty route. I can find 9/16s from America, would be about the same size I guess?

Re: Spark Plug Socket
I don't think you can buy a specific 13mm plug wrench, if you could it would be made specifically for these bikes.
You can get the original wrench from David Silver also: http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/part ... ber_14417/
I prefer to use a deep 13mm socket with my own-made rubber insert.

Re: Spark Plug Socket
Okay cheers guys, just wondered. I've got the standard one in the tool kit, thanks. I think that's what i've used previously. Just trying to get as many tools for working on the bike as possible so as to make things a lot easier. Think i'll give the putty in the socket a go this weekend.

Re: Spark Plug Socket
I don't know if the NC30's plugs are the same as the NC21's (I've got the latter) but I've got a ½" drive, 10mm plug socket from Halfords, as well as a long reach box spanner in the same size.
The size refers to the diameter of the threaded bit, the hex size is larger- for a 10mm plug it's about 16mm.
I think there's only about 4 sizes of plugs used on light vehicles so that cuts down on the choice, probably...

NC30/35's use the 5th size...Chrissy_J wrote:I think there's only about 4 sizes of plugs used on light vehicles so that cuts down on the choice, probably...
8mm plugs, very rare size indeed.
