Help Project NC30 issue with lights!
Ok so im nearing my test and have decided to get the bike back together with miss match fairing now to get it mot'd etc and give it a run when the day comes!
So i started getting all the electrics back on the bike, and all i fine EXCEPT.... I have no dipped beam, just Full or parking.
So got it down to i think the switch on the left switch gear for dipped and full beam, seems though the switch is not disengaging and its stuck on full beam... any ideas people??

wrong bulbs have melted the switch. strip it, clean it and fit the right bulbs, or a relay for the low beam circuit.
common fault....

I have a similar problem although with mine, main beam works, but when I press the hi beam switch, the hi beam only comes on whilst you hold the button in (just like the passing switch).
As I've just got this bike I don't know how the switch is supposed to work, is the switch supposed to physically toggle (press once, switch stays in, press again switch returns to full out).
I am not sure if its a switch fault or some other electrical fault - please help

Yes it is.scooble wrote:is the switch supposed to physically toggle (press once, switch stays in, press again switch returns to full out).
Try stripping it and cleaning all the gunk out. Liberal amounts of electrical contact spray and a rag to clean off the gunk should get it working properly.
If it doesn't work after that it's an electrical issue.

took the switch apart, then the little spring pinged across the garage hit the wall and rolled to my feet (result!).
Anyway, I took the mechanism apart and 'fiddled' with the ramp assy, put it back together and it kinda works - (to turn hi off, i have very quickly hit the switch to get it ti un-toggle).
Its not ideal, so i'm on the lookout for a good working switchgear too.

Did you use contact cleaner or some wd40/rp7?
A spray of this usually frees it up a bit.
