Rear Seat Cowling Painted

After a week and a big learning curve, finished painting my rear seat cowling.
Got the paint from a local paint factors, they matched it using a panel I took to them, very pleased with the match. At £10 a can I thought quite reasonably priced too, so after spraying, rubbing down with 2000 grit wet n dry, lots of water, washing up liquid and advice from you guys, here's the finished article:

I Got alot of satisfaction from doing it myself, it's not 100% perfect but I'm chuffed with it

Looks spot on from the pics, having done it yourself you will know off all the imperfections. But looks great from where I'm sat!

Rick, just had a thought, now you've got your compressor up and running, there must be an air tool you can use to 'mop' your fairings for your new scheme?

yeah ill get my act together soon need to get the CBR done for kelly before the summer if out!

and that might kick start me to sort the NC30 fairing early.

Needs to be a beefy compressor to run a mop properly, electric ones aint quite as good but will be better than running one off a underpowered compessor.

bloody nice finish there derek tip for the future tho, use 3M fineline tape to mask where you want curves, ie where the black curves at the front of the cowl. Get a tiny bit of heat into it and you can make some pretty tight curves with ease.

Thanks Tony I'll try that next time, flippin Harris masking tape was crap to be honest.
