Head stock adjustmet.
Hi all.
I'm after some help again.
My headstock needs adjusting. Could somebody give me some advice on how to do this.

undo the 41mm tope yoke nut,
pull off yoke,
bend the tabs down on the lock washer,
undo the yoke lock nut,
tighten the adjuster nut clock wise,
option 1
til the steering goes stiff then back of anti clock wise till its not stiff,
option 2
adjust clockwise a little bit at a time until it feels right,
this whole job is best down with the wheel on the floor as the weight of the bike it pushing the bottom yoke in,
HOWEVER to test it, youll need the bike wheel in the air and hold both of the forks at the bottom and pull back and forth to see if theres any play,
i need to adjust mine again!

I also suggest you need 2 C-spanners, one to hold the adjuster and one to tighten the locknut against it. It you do it any other way you will struggle to get it tight-tight, and it'll come loose again.

the NC30 has a 41mm Yoke Nut!
36mm wheel nut,

See pages 12 -16 and 12-17 Honda workshop manual and pages 18-20 to 18-23 Honda common service manual.
The adjuster nut cannot loosen, it is locked with a locking tab and the lock nut is then held firm by the top yoke pressing onto it under 101ft/lbs of torque applied to the stem top nut.
A peg spanner is required to torque the adjuster to 36ft/lbs, [oil stem threads and adjuster nut thread and face] then fit locking tab and the lock nut screwed down finger tight only.
A spring gauge is then attached to each fork leg in turn to check the lock to lock resistance, 2.2 to 3.3 lbs [1 to 1.5 kilo]
