Nc24 Mirrors

Post by steveof » Mon Jun 06, 2011 12:12 am

Hi all,i just replaced the clock/fairing bracket on my NC24,it`s identical to the rather bent one it replaced. But the mirrors won`t fit...the mirror mounting bolts are further appart, they measure about 60mm between the mounting bolts...anyone know where i can get some new mirrors from......Thanks.Steve

Then it's not identical :D

As an easy fix you could drill a couple of holes in the right place on the new braket, using the old one as a template.

Not sure what the 60mm spacing mirrors are from...

Yes correct not comletley identical.....the measurement to the bolt centre`s are just over 50mm,so there must be two bracket`s that both fit the NC24 but with different mirror mounting spacings...............so yes it looks like i will have to get the drill out..Thanks.Steve

probably many things can be made to fit, or might fit directly.. lots of these bikes use very similar if not identical parts.

early cbr400 aero, cbr250 hurricane, other 86-87 bikes were all very similar.. if i remember rightly soem of them had wider mirrors too..

However,

NC24 only has one for all types.. 64500ML0730 (RH, RH-II, RJ-III) [1987/1988]

(I have the part book infront of me)

I think you have the wrong bracket....

I think it may well be the wrong bracket, but it`s a lot straighter than the old one and clocks nose cone etc all line up ok.Managed to get the old mirrors to fit with a bit of fileing of the slot between the two mounting holes. So will do for now..Thanks for replys ....Steve

Ah cool! They do come up on ebay occasionally so you might find another one if your desperate!

be interesting to know why the mirros are different though :-)

the bracket is from an nc21.

i have come across the same problem but the other way around. bought an nc24 bracket for my nc21, everything is exactly the same except for the mirror brackets, the holes are now too close together. but funnily enough there are two sets of holes in the fairing allowing for both brackets to fit you just need the correct mirrors to match.
