Crank case ignition pickup
Hi all,
has anyone had to change an ignition pickup coil on a SF? My 1996 F2V has suddenly refused to start and this has led to a week long investigation... The ignition module has many more wires going into it than is suggested by the workshop manual (ok, it's for a slightly different model) but I've gone through the checklist and the pickup (blue 2w connector under LHS side panel) is measuring open circuit. The manual says look for around 300-400ohms... is this right? I never had reason to measure it when it was working but it still seems to produce a small A.C. voltage when the starter is turning over.
Anyone measured a good one and can confirm that I should be able to measure a resistance?
Finally do these bikes share the pickup of any UK models (CB500 ones looks suspiciously similar).
Many thanks...
