TPS and Fuel Pump help

Looking at fitting to the old girl (VFR with RVF carbs) with a TPS sensor and fuel pump to run on RO cdi box, looking through the manual i can determine which additional wires need to be added to the CDI but i was wondering which parts from what bikes have people had experience with! got a CBR600F in for breaking at the moment for which i was thinking of using the fuel pump from but do have a load more bikes in for breaking if any one has a better choice for me.

The biggest issue i have is the TPS sensor, can anyone point me in the right direction been looking at a few and some have 3 wires some have 4! looking at the wiring diagram for the CDi i only require a 3 wire one (please confirm) seen one on a little Piaggio Liberty 125 at work and it looks perfect but from a 125 not really knowing if it will be any good as it is small but easy to mount on carbs and small to hide unit.

Any help would be great and much appreciated; the bike is nearly there but just trying to add the final touches to make it better.

Hi James,

I have a fuel pump just lying around in my garage. I believe its from an NC29.

A mate of mine used it on his track NC30. Its all ready to go - He used the rear brake switch as a power source (the little red connector)

Just plug it in and you're off!

Thank you for the offer Kev but I have today stripped down the CBR600 we have, which i will be using the fuel pump from and also looking like the TPS sensor will do the job as well, been searching but not a great deal is mentioned on them so im going to play and see what happens as the Ignitech cdi is all programable with them including the fuel pump just have to add the wiring to the right numbered connection block and get it back on the dyno to program it all together then.

I will mate, been along time in the making but i think it's gonna be worth the wait, thats for sure...

Got the current dyno information before and after engine work and looking forward to seeing what differences a few mods make for the next test and see whats worth doing and whats not.

Hi, would it not be easier to use a MAP sensor off a car? just plumb it into the vac feed to the fuel tap and thats it, or does the ingitec not support the sensors output?

Ian, came you post any extra info on the MAP sensor? im looking at fitting a fuel pump on my bike and am open to ideas. Regards the TPS bandit12's use one and there is a load of info on the banditalley forum regards settings etc.

The ignitech supports TPS input so makes sense just to use one, its easy enough to mount its just setting it up that gunna be the issue, anyone got a dyno i can use for half a day

Hi, i think MAP sensors output a pulse width modulated signal ( like the pulse gets longer with more airpressure), some of them do produce and analogue signal but only a few and i cant rember which ones off me head, sorry.
But if there not supported in the software it would be easier to use a tps.
If i get time i try to find out which ones do wat.

Interesting, i got the fuel pump sorted by using a vacuum electric switch. The switch runs off the orig vacuum and switches 12v to the fuel pump so as switching off if the motor stops.
