Fzr400 Genesis regulator....hot topic ;o)
Does your regulator get too hot to touch in normal use? (3000rpm+) I was just doing some tests and I've never felt it before. I could easily believe it does but can anyone confirm the same on theirs ta.
I've made a nice heatsink for it now, but wondered if it is symptomatic of a fault further up the charging circuit.

not sure if it should be "to hot to touch" but they do run fairly warm, hence the fins and the sleeveing on the wires and their usually placed in a good air draft to keep em cool
if the bike is stood then it will get warmer as there's no air flow
but yes they can get pretty hot,
if the charging system is working ok then it's probably fine, but they do have an optimum working temperature and too cool is as bad as too hot, otherwise they'd be stuck up the front with the radiator
