Track bike exhaust heat issue

Hi

Just noticed that the down pipes are causing the lower fairing to "melt", made a foil pad to try and deflect it but has burnt straight through ofter one day at Oulton, there are two areas affected directly under the down pipes on the lower belly pan fairing

Any body got any suggestions or solutions

Exhaust Wrap/Bandage my friend,

will also give you a bit of extra grunt be cause the gasses exit a little hotter and the temp doesnt dip as soon as it comes out the engine etc,

i got them wraped just done to the bends, as i was concerned about the heat transfer into the radiator.

Cheers, just got some so will get it sorted this weekend... like the idea of keeping the heat away from the rad as well so will do full length of the down pipes
The idea of more power is good already at 72 at the wheel. Any extra is always handy.

If the pipes are burning the fairing then heat wrap is not going to stop it..in my experience!

I had an HRC system and it melted the lowers eve fully wrapped..

Nowt to do about it...unless you can move the pipes or the fairings.

Just been given some material by a mate who works in the aircraft industry, looks like a 1970's woven tie. he reckons it will handle over 1k degrees and will still feel cool to touch... not that i'm going to test it. Going to wire lock and wrap like a cycle handlebar.

It's only the underside of my track fairing so not overly serious but the plastics burning smell was quite bad at Oulton last week and it was a cold and wet day so middle of July might be an issue.
