CRM's - 750 sensible updates and care for 2011
Well this year the RC30 will be getting a bit of TLC and some spend.
For the last 3 years i must confess all its had is petrol, one oil and filter change and a pair of tyres and 4000 miles lobbed at it.
So 2011 is the year of care for the poor neglected RC30.
Its been to Chris's at Dynopro in Runcorn for the following
Oil and Filter.
Valve Clearances checked and set.
Change the fork springs to a pair of uprated courtesy of Rick Oliver.
Service and revalve and respring or my spare rear OE shock courtesy of Maxton.
Standard spare sump extended for more oil capacity.
Uprated road radiator kit fitted to try and actually cool the bike sub 40mph on 20 degree days.
Dyno run and re-jet to remove lean OE jetting.
New Supercorsa's ready to rock and roll for summer.
Not sure whether to fit the scratty old bodywork and turn into a summer trash tool, or clean up and reside to a summer dry day only tool and spend alot of time starting to clean it up a bit.
Anyway pics of the alloy porn and tasty welding and the RC30 with its kit off.

Very nice. Is there much difference in terms of finish and build quality between the RC30 and the NC30?

Yes Jim, the detail is more inside the engine, i guess, camshafts inside bearings, TI rods etc etc.jim157 wrote:Very nice. Is there much difference in terms of finish and build quality between the RC30 and the NC30?
however the finish is excellent and putting it all together is where you notice it. it all just fits without and jiggling or tugging or effort.
That said the NC30 is just about the second best bike i have ever seen in terms of quality, the RVF is a better design in areas and i know some will disagree, but the quality and fit of parts of the 35 is not as good as the 30. esp the bodywork.
the 35 to me is typical of mid to late 90's honda's like the blades - which really is excellent, however the NC30 i think is a bit more solid and better built which is much better than other honda's of that era.
However back to the RC30 - that is remarkable for its day.

i reckon it would, however i will say, after riding the 35 down to collect the RC, and riding the RC back, the 35 was a shit load more nimble, and when it comes to the tremp road mate, i can tell you i would much rather be on the 35, yet the motorway and faster roads the RC would be for the win.
Martin you know i can ride and corner upto my comfort zone, i really think if i was on the RC i would be way at the back or holding people up, taking a bit of extra care, where as the 35 would be less risk as it were.

I'm pulling your leg mate. Taking that over the '35 would be almost as daft as taking the the red thing that lives in the corner.
Too spensiff!!!

how dare you talk about the red thing in a negative manner, it's still in the running for a euro leg stretch. Its sure comfy and packs a hell of a punch.
