Hi, im just wondering from you Experienced Bikers, who you are all Insured with, and who your trust and rate etc, any good Companys that will insure the VFR400 better than others

also some Companys say "insured on other bikes" how does this work ?? as i would like to use my Dads Vespa scooter to commute when my VFr400 is off the road etc,,

You don't get and they don't count no claims bonus and you need to be over 25 but you can get fully comp insurance on several classic bikes for about 110.00.

well thats me out of the window,, im only 21, my insurance has gone down since last year, but just wondered what peoples reviews and opinions were with companies.
as i am thinking about using Devitt and some insurance co, but ive heard some bad Reviews.

What about the disclaimer they have "no grey imports" ? How you getting around that?

I'm with Carrole Nash - I think I'm still paying less than £200 for three bikes (NC30, XR250 and CRM250) - imports no problem - but they do stipulate the bikes must be secured in a locked garage at night.

THATS ACE, but how old are you and experience ?
im only 21 and have ridden bikes for a few years, ill try Quotes from the companies you mention, my bike will be garaged,
would it be illegal if i said its not Imported, do i have to put Imported and a grey bike ? it is an import form Japan or Italy or somewhere, says on my V5 was registered/used over seas.

and says Number of owners since JULY 1994 does that mean it was registered in ENGLAND in 94 or on the road 94, its a G reg '89

I'm with MCE and have declared all my mods ( wheels, paint, forks, exhaust etc) - a total of £254 fully comp and able to ride other peoples bikes too. I'm 30 with 8 years NCB in Hampshire.

'Other peoples bikes' means you can ride them and be insured third paty only i believe. They also have to have insurance on their bike.

Your bike was first made in 89 (same as mine) and used overseas (probably Japan) then imported to the uk and registered as being here in 94.

Japan has/had laws on older bikes and made it difficult for them to pass the reglations/checks after a few years use which is why alot of them get exported to places like the UK.

Which disclaimer is that? I cant find one in my policy and they insured my zxr on the frame number as i told them i was in the process of registering an import.

The NC24 even says VFR400R (Grey) on the covernote...
