Indicators flashing fast, not LED related
Fitted a set of those clear RVF indicators and they all flash as they should but fast, only thing different from the originals is the fronts only have 2 wires, what do i do with the 3rd wire?

Have you cycled the wires to see if it only happens when wired one way?
Can you use your old bulbs?

thinking it might have 2 elements? ranodomly..
like - wire 1 and 2
2 and 3
and 1 and 3
does it make any difference to flash rate?

3rd wire is for 'running' indies, you'd need bulbs with 2 filaments in them.
Not sure why they're flashing too fast though; would a busted relay cause this or would it just stop working?
Can you tell I'm rubbish at electrics too!

Re: Indicators flashing fast, not LED related
I seem to remember the rate of flash changes depending on the wattage of the bulbs. Can you check the bulbs and then find the correct fitment wattage. I assume you've got all the winkers connected. ie the front and back are both flashing too fast. A similar thing used to happen when one bulb blows, the remaining one flashes faster.
This may not be correct but it's how I've always thought it works. IIRC, you can either change the bulbs, if they are incorrect, or get a different flasher relay.

Correct. You could fit a cheap electronic flasher (in place of the standard indicator relay) to return the flash rate back to normal, or you could fit bulbs that have the same wattage as standard.laminator wrote:I seem to remember the rate of flash changes depending on the wattage of the bulbs.

lower the wattage faster it will flash, you may have 5 watt bulbs in and need 15w.
