IIRC, you need to take the panels off before you can get the seat off, same with the VFR :peace:
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

Lol, no, put the key in the helmet lock and turn it the opposite way to opening the helmet catch. Took me ages to work out the first time i tried as well!

edit: ok 73 model...maybe the same?

Nope both wrong
On the 73a it is a key under pillion seat on left side releases the pillion seat then there is a ringpull thing which releases the rider's seat

on the underside of the riders' seat there's a rectangular box, about 7cm long, 4 wide. its ontop of a bar that's going under-across the riders seat, left to right side of the frame.

look for a damaged puller-string or whatever, if there isn't one, you're probably going to have to force it off, but as your sitting on it, try and pull it to the right as this will compress the spring-lock mechanisim for the seat.

gk76a pillion seat originally is open @ the helmet clip @ the rear left fairing, clockwise is open seat, anti clock is open the helmet clip. but the thing can be shifted by owner if they change to aftermarket fairing or mod the original fairing. my friend shifted the thing to rider's thigh's area as he mod the original fairing. :P
hope it helps...

There is a bolt just at the base of the tank. If someone has re- covered the seat it might be hidden under the padding.
