fireblade conversion.

Post by kaighn80 »

evening.
i've done the search but i cant find anything on changing the engine in a 23 for a fireblade lump. i know there is cutting and welding to be done ( not bothered by all that) but if someone has done it then i'd like to see so as to get a general feel for the whole operation. i'm aware of the fzr400 with a fireblade lump done by an aussie on another great site who calls himself suspentionsmith. if it can be done with a fzr then surely it can be done with a cbr400. i ask as i've been offered a frame and swinger from a 23 with log book for silly money and i have a fireblade that has been stuffed laying around so i might aswell do something with it.

The only person I know on here who has done a fireblade conversion is a guy who goes by the name of firebeast e mail him.

Thinking about it I think he did it with a 29 frame but I could be wrong.

I've seen an nc29 with a fireblade engine in it in Oz, lots of frame cutting required!

I can imagine with the nc29 there would be lots of cutting involved as the frame is a weird shape etc.

With the 23 you will struggle to get the head between the rails. There's going to be a lot of cutting and welding. I wouldn't bother myself but hey, everyone wants something different (or, has different stuff kicking about in the garage ;) )
