Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

i think the debate about fully synt was nullified recently.
in any case halfords do 10-40 motorcycle oil and so do hein gericke (which includes a free filter),

I always use Hein Gericke 10w40 Semi in my CBR6, (work for Hein Gericke so it's easier) but last time i did the RVF i used Motul 10W40, almost double the price won't be doing that again!

+1 for semi. my NC30's last 2 changes were with the halfords stuff, it hasn't blown up
