38T Rear Sprocket RVF
The shop here in SA that can get me a D.I.D. 15T Front Sprocket, D.I.D. 525 X-Ring chain says D.I.D. only make a 40T Rear Sprocket for the NC35, are there any other bikes that run a 38T stock Rear Sprocket that fit the RVF so I can say RVF front sprocket and chain and 'xyz' bike 38T Rear Sprocket knowing that it will fit, are there any bikes, at a push I think the 38T stock Rear Sprocket on my bike can still be used doesn't seem to be worn it's just I'm gonna run D.I.D. Front Sprocket and chain so i'd rather replace all at once and then jobs done...
also I want to break off the old chain, can a chain breaker do it? the haynes manual is saying i need to remove the swingarm? (but it seems thats for cleaning the chain as a whole i want to break it and rivet new chain on)

Not too sure about the sprocket sizes mate but you may as well replace it if your doing the lot.
Regarding the chain, a chain breaker will do it but an angle grinder will do the job quicker.

Renthall do an ally 38t and JT [Japanese] do a steel 38t.
Honda original still available.
The Whale Brand chain breaker/rivetter will do the job, if not angle grind the rivet head down and lever or punch the side plate off.
A rivetter tool will be needed to flare the end of the pin.
Dave.

Re: 38T Rear Sprocket RVF
Yea bike knowledge here is crap, they argue with me that an RVF is 40T, when I know its 38T, I have a 38T on, the manual says 38T, and the honda original is 38T
Renthal I know, I'd love to get renthal stuff, but now finding where to get it...you can't search online here nobody or anything goes online it's worse than a needle in a haystack online
ordering from abroad I'm assuming i'd get raped by tax charges and customs, but I emailed rick oliver for a catalogue(does he sell renthal stuff??) and to ask if he has any SA customers to see if he knows about customs stuff, i wouldn't trust regular post either would have to be courier, haven't heard from Rick oliver yet either

you can shop on B&C Express or maybe fleabay UK. If u don't know already, I think there's also a company in SA called Racebox (Johannesburg maybe) they make fairing kits for the NC30 and NC35 so they may stock other parts for them too

Re: 38T Rear Sprocket RVF
yea problem with ebay is my paypal has UK card which is now empty, and its a uk paypal so it won't let me change to an SA address, and when I made an SA paypal...it doesn't seem to accept my card here so got no way to pay now
Has anyone here got 40T rear? How much do you lose on the top end?, seeming like it's gonna be an uphill fight to find a 38T rear sprocket thats aftermarket, I only know of 1 place I can try for that, but they'll give me a no name brand sprocket I know nothing about, but my rear on the bike at the minute isn't worn maybe I can leave it? decisions decisions

I use 15\40 on a rvf and find it spot on for the road. The shop you've spoke to are getting the 35 confussed with the 30 which uses a 40T rear sprocket.
If your stuck for getting one I'm sure one of us here in the UK can send you a 38T but personaly unless your commuting on the bike I'd go for a 40T. Speedo will over read tho if that bothers you.
