would you trust these?

my other option is to have mine re chromed but thats more expensive again.

You could buy a set of forks for near that price from here. Unless you want the stanchions completely rust free then you don't have much choice.

Hard to say. Have seen cheap chrome parts disintegrate after a couple of weeks but have also had rare times when I've been lucky. Depends if theyre made cheap or just selling cheap IYSWIM.
