GK73A fuel line question

Post by griff488 »

As previously reported in another thread the carbs have been off my 73 for four months or so and now i cant remember where the fuel lines run!!
Theres two that come off the tap. One large one small. Which one goes to the top rail (as the carbs are fitted to the bike) and which one goes to the lower?
If anyone has a picture they could send me i'd be very greatful.

Many thanks
Griff

Hi Griff,
The larger one goes to the bottom rail, this is petrol, the thinner one is vacuum and goes to the vacuum take off (either on the manifold or carb top) the top rail of the carbs is just a breather and the pipe from that just runs up through the central hole in the airbox and sits over the top of the airbox.
What width is the front wheel you got? 3" of 3.5".
Chris.

Hi Chris

I thought you'd know!! So would that explain why it wasn't running right when i got it because both of the pipes from the tap went to the top and bottom rail of the carbs??
Where about on the manifold or carbs should i be looking for this vacuum connection? I cant see anything on the carbs.
Does the breather pipe on the top rail not connect to anything then?

The front wheel i have is a 3" mate.

Thanks Griff

Ye 3" coming out of my ears, need a 3.5" for a spare wet tyre.
Some models have a small vacuum take off on the actual carb manifold or you use one of the vacuum take offs from the carb top, usually number 2 carb.
