Carb testing?

Post by Smev »

Just wondering if there is a way of testing the carbs are all sealed correctly before fitting them to the bike?

Last time I tried fitting them, it took me a while to get them on the engine, then the tank and hoses connected up. Turned it over, and the bleedin' thing were p*%$ing fuel all over the place :(

So to save all that hassle, can i test them before?

Cheers Smev.

It was the float bowls which seemed to be leaking - not sure how to get them to fill up properly - would just funnel into the pipes work?

Syringe Fuel into the main fuel line is what I do just to check the float bowl gaskets.

the best way to do this is to get a small tank,
lawn mower, moped, hang it from the workshop ceiling,
grt a couple of mtrs of fuel line, one inline fuel tap,
you can do all the testing you want.
