GK76A Electricals

Post by bowlerjp »

Hi all,
Firstly very sorry if there's a post I've missed concerning this:

The bike turns over but no spark at the plugs. Replaced the CDI and given everything a good look over but to no avail. As I can't remove the rotor to access the pick up, its gone into the garage for them to have a look.

However, as everyone is well aware, these imports have little or no manual, and they've requested as much electrical statistics as possible. I'm specifically looking for some help with the ignition coils, pick up, cdi and any other data you may think beneficiary.

Thank you for any help, be much appreciated. Just can't wait to hear it start now!

I had a similar fault on mine, if you have tested all the normal things like side stand, neutral, kill switchs, earthing points, and they are all good then try looking under the left hand side seat cover just in front of the pillion pegs. There is a bunch of connectors hiding under there to check but look out for a small black block about 15mm x 8 mm with three wires going to it and make sure the terminals are clean. This has something to do with the safety cut out relays. But make sure it goes back on the SAME WAY AROUND!
These bikes are unbeliviably sensitive to crappy connections & wiring so test everything.
There was a post on here a while back that had some resistance readings for the coils and pick up.
