R&G non drilling crash bungs

thinking about getting some to protect my newly painted fairings when they get back,

are they easy to fit?
anyone used them in anger?

o and what opinion on the colour to go for with this scheme (black or white)

kl, do you have to remove the radiator to fit the bungs? as iv just fitted them adn that would be annoying

I thought black would look better becase it would be less noticable from a side on view, i think i need more pic's to make a decision

It can be done with the rads in situ but those pics are from when I was doing a strip, clean and re-build. I have lots of pics with the white bungs if it's any help to you.

ok thats good, have you got any side on flat silouette type photo's, that would be best to compare to the black bungs, also how far do the bungs stick out the fairing aprox?

Ok they are a bit of an arse to use as you have to remove them every time you want to take the fairings off but they do a good job.

As you can see from this picture although it damaged and bent the crash bung it left the fairing mainly unmarked there was a slight bit of damage where the crash bung bent back to touch the fairing.



I damaged the fairing getting it off but that was because I was at the trackside, if I'd had been at home I would have cut it off and saved further damage.

It still took out the gear lever, clutch lever, bar weight and damaged the exhaust (the standard wire shield would have prevented this though).


Unfortunatly in this case when it got to the edge of the track it flipped over[1] but that's not the fault or anything the crash bungs could have done to save it as I think it just sank into the earth on that side!
